the early 17th Century came to a head long-lasting conflicts with the city of Bludenz Montafon too extreme. The Hofjünger demanded not only its own cattle market and a change in taxation, but also a separate court. In 1607 they received commitments by the country's rulers in Innsbruck, but its implementation was thwarted by the Bludenzer successful. Upon which the Montafon in fact his own business. To put an end to this state, confessed to the valley in 1613, at least temporarily to a separate court, but did not meet expectations. When it was abolished four years later, the Hofjünger were as formerly placed under the jurisdiction of Bludenz. It then remained for more than a half centuries. The dream of independent Montafon had granted only briefly.
